KBW Scissors / Kent Blade Works is, first and foremost, about scissors.
When my partner trained as a groomer, I saw how difficult it was to find genuinely high-quality grooming scissors without paying inflated, brand-driven prices. The tools dominating the market simply didn’t feel like the precision instruments they claimed to be. That didn’t sit right with me.
Before ever selling scissors, I was already a trained sharpener, and long before that I spent much of my working life around luxury wristwatches — handling and dealing with brands such as Jaeger-LeCoultre and Omega. I knew what true craftsmanship felt like: quality materials, engineering that made sense, and attention to detail you notice the moment something sits in your hand.
So I set out to bring that same standard into grooming tools.
I began sourcing and developing my own range of Japanese 440C scissors — lightweight, beautifully balanced professional tools designed for real working groomers, not marketing departments. No hype, no inflated mark-ups — just honest, well-made equipment that performs day after day.
Sharpening remains at the heart of what I do. Trained at the UK Sharpening School under Wolff Industries, I restore and maintain scissors using specialist equipment and traditional hand-finishing on Japanese wet stones, treating every pair with the same care and precision.
Alongside our scissor range, we also offer a professional sharpening service with free return postal service across the UK.
Kent Blade Works exists for one simple reason: great scissors should feel exceptional in the hand — and they shouldn’t cost a week’s wages to own.
