About me

Kent Blade Works is founded on precision, craftsmanship, and the very finest equipment.

I trained at the UK Sharpening School — the only accredited centre of its kind in Europe — under Wolff Industries, world leaders in blade technology. My workshop is equipped with specialist systems from Nebraska Blades and Edge Pro, and every finish is completed by hand on fine Japanese wet stones to achieve a flawless, lasting edge.

I specialise in restoring high-end grooming scissors and the world’s most respected hairdressing shears — including Joewell, Kasho, Jaguar, and Mizutani — as well as precision chef knives from leading Japanese makers such as Shun, Masamoto, and Global.

Each blade is treated with the same care as when it first left the hands of its maker — ensuring sharpness, balance, and performance worthy of the tools you trust most.

The Tools

At Kent Blade Works, I  utilise the finest machines available to ensure exceptional results:

Hi-Tu scissor system — designed for factory-accurate convex, semi-convex, and bevel edges.

DT Grinder — for knives, giving a flawless, durable edge for chefs and home cooks alike.

Big Red clipper machine — dedicated to clipper blades, ensuring smooth, reliable performance.

Where appropriate, I also finish blades by hand on Japanese water stones — a traditional craft technique that delivers an edge of exceptional sharpness and feel.

Every item goes through a post-service process: balanced, tensioned, cleaned, and carefully rehoused, so it’s returned ready for immediate use.
